MSBTE Conducting Re-exam Summer 2022 for Final Year Students Who Failed in S-22 Exam, Information About Remedial Coaching

Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai has issued a circular on Wednesday 24th August 2022. In this circular made by the board, information is given regarding the re-examination of the summer 2022 examination. MSBTE is conducting a re-examination for those students who have failed in the summer 2022 examination.

The Summer 2022 re-examination is conducted only and only for those students who have failed in the final semester/year examination.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Chandrakant Patil raised the issue of re-examination on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in the Maharashtra Assembly Monsoon Session.
In this Assembly session Hon'ble Minister Mr. Chandrakant Patil said that when the examination was conducted in online mode for the previous two years, the result was 90 percent. now for the first time, the examination was conducted in the offline mode, then the result of that examination was only 37 percent. So the re-examination will be held from September 15, 2022 to September 30, 2022 without stopping till December so that students who have failed in summer 2022 examination will get a chance and that student will pass.
Also, Hon'ble Minister Higher & Technical Education gave information about direct second year engineering admission , in which he said that the students who are going to take admission in direct send year engineering after passing diploma have 10 percent seats and those quota will be stopped till the result of summer 2022 re-examination. We are going to stop this admission quota because the students who pass this re-examination will also be able to participate in the process of direct second year admission and their year will not be wasted.
This year's(2022) direct second year engineering admission process will not start until the re-examination is over and results are out, but the second year/routine of that college will continue.

MSBTE also informed about Remedial Coaching for those students who failed in the summer 2022 examination. In this circular made by the board, information is given regarding Remedial Coaching.
In which it is stated that, The results of the summer 2022 examination for the academic year 2021-22 have been declared. Some students have failed in the exam and some students have gone to the next year/semester after getting ATKT. However, it is necessary to implement remedial coaching process for these failed students in the institute.
The Institute should analyze the results of the Summer 2022 examination. It is necessary to do remedial coaching in a constructive manner and consistently by knowing the opinions of the teachers about how remedial coaching can be done for the students in the subject in which the students are failing.
For this, the remedial coaching process should be implemented at the institutional level by taking actual hours, taking demonstrations, preparing videos, preparing educational materials, giving notes, preparing E-content, and taking tutorials.
As the failed students of the final semester/year will be re-examined in September 2022 for their failed subjects, more emphasis should be given on remedial coaching as a special matter at the institution level for such eligible students. In order to practice the examination, The practice exam of the failed students in the final semester/year to practice the exam should be conducted at the institute level before re-examination by the board.
Important Guidelines for Remedial Coaching:
  • The subject for which remedial coaching is required should be selected at the institution level. Also the students who need remedial coaching will be selected at the institution level.
  • Remedial coaching should be done on Saturdays/Sundays or one/two extra hours per day in addition to the regular schedule.
  • Schedules for remedial coaching should be determined and information should be given to the students through a circular and the schedule will be published on the website of the institute.
  • Difficulty level of some lesson (Chapter) in a subject is high, remedial coaching process will be implemented for that lesson or for the whole subject.
  • No fee will be charged to students for remedial coaching.
  • As admission of students in second year is delayed, bridge courses should be conducted for such students. Also, for ITI/MCVC/Vocational students directly admitted to second year, bridge courses will be conducted in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Drawing etc.
