MSBTE Fifth Semester Syllabus For I Scheme |Diploma in Computer Engineering

In the fifth semester of diploma in computer engineering some advanced level subjects are introduced. In the previous semester i.e. fourth semester we are studied about the Java Programming Language in the fifth semester we will studied about Advanced Java Programming subject. Also we are studied about Software Engineering subject in the fourth semester and in this semester we will learn about Software Testing subject.
MSBTE gives three Elective i.e. Client Side Scripting Language, Advanced Computer Network and Advanced Database Management Systems subjects for fifth semester, students can choose any one of them for end semester examination. For this semester the end semester examination of the Environmental Studies and Advanced Java Programming subject are conducted in Online Mode (based on Multiple Choice Questions) at Institute Level.

Environmental Studies are an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates phyphysical, chemical and biological sciences, with the study of the environment. It provides an integrated, quantitative, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental system and gives an insight into solutions of environmental problems.
Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) conduct Online MCQ based End Semester Examination for Environmental Studies subject at institute level. The examination of this subject is of 70 marks.
For the Environmental Studies subject 5 units are given in the syllabus. The total teaching time for this subject are 48 Hours as per syllabus.

An Operating System is basically a system program that controls the execution of application program and acts as an interface between applications and the computer hardware. This course enebles to learn internal functioning of operating system and will help in identifying appropriate Operating System for given applications/task. This course is also a prerequisite for the group of courses included in 'Cloud Infrastructure Maintenance' Elective group.
MSBTE conduct Offline Theory End Semester Examination for Operating System subject at institute level. The examination of this subject is of 70 marks.

JavaScript is limited featured client side programming language. JavaScript runs at the client end through the user's browser without sending messages back and forth to the server. It is widely used by the web developers to do things such as build dynamic web pages, respond to events, create interactive forms, validate data that the visitor enters into a form, control the browser etc. This course helps student to create highly interactive web pages using these features.

In order to work with existing technology in building large, complex networked systems, students should be aware of the principles, architectures, and protocols employed in trendy networked systems. This course covers advanced computer network protocols, and advanced principles of the design of computer networks. After finishing this course students are able to tack various TCP/IP protocols at totally different layers.

Advanced database management systems contain comprehensive contents on various concepts related to database systems, database design and management. Broadly it discusses about parallel and distributed database systems, database transactions, big data management and advances in database data. The student will get a detailed introduction about database administration and management, the role of machine learning in big data management. This course includes study of structured and unstructured database like MongoDB, SQL and XML for data management. The concept big data is used in today's information driven business world for managing big data. After learning this subject student will be able to use ADBMS as a backend for developing database.
