MSBTE Re-Exam Summer 2022: Board Said There Will Be No Change in Result & No Conduction of Re-Exam For Summer 2022

Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai has issued a circular on Thursday 11th August 2022. In this circular made by the board, information is given regarding the result of the summer 2022 examination. Also, Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education made an important announcement regarding conduction of Summer 2022 re-examination for those students who have failed in the Summer 2022 examination. In MSBTE Summer 2022 examination many students failed while some students failed in 1-2 subjects. After the announcement of the results of this examination, some students said that those students who have failed in the first year and second year, should be provided with carryon for admission in the next year. The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education has received Statements from some students, institutions and organizations regarding the fact that the students should declare the result of the subject as passed based on the combined marks (Combine Passing) of Theory (TH) and Progressive Assessment (PA) and immediately conduct re-examination of the failed students.

In the circular issued by the board, it has been stated that,

The students who fail in the Summer 2022 exam will not be re-examined. There will be no conduction of re-exam for Summer 2022.

We all know that all the previous exams (S-2020, W-2020, S-2021 and W-2021) were conducted in Online MCQ Mode for the last 2 years due to the outbreak of Covid-19. But the Summer 2022 exam was conducted in the prevailing mode i.e. Offline Mode. Therefore, the number of students passing in the exams held in 2020 and 2021 was higher. It has been informed by the board in the released circular that it is not fair to compare the results of the previous year (2020 and 2021) results with the summer 2022 result. An important statement mentioned by the board in the circular is that the result of Summer Exam 2022 must be compared with the result of Summer Exam 2018 and 2019.
Let us see the analysis of Summer 2018 exam results:
A total of 5,53,347 students appeared for the Summer 2018 examination. Out of these students a total of 2,02,235 students passed. A total of 36.55 % students passed the Summer 2018 exam.
  • 34,575 students passed with Distinction (17.10%).
  • 1,06,016 students passed with First Class (52.42%).
  • 56,922 students passed with Second Class (28.15%).
  • 4,733 students passed with Pass Class (2.34%).
Now let us see the analysis of Summer 2019 exam results:
A total of 5,10,688 students appeared for the Summer 2019 examination. Out of these students a total of 2,01,451 students passed. A total of 39.45 % students passed the Summer 2019 exam.
  • 34,515 students passed with Distinction (17.13%).
  • 1,06,393 students passed with First Class (52.81%).
  • 54,582 students passed with Second Class (27.09%).
  • 5,743 students passed with Pass Class (2.85%).
MSBTE also provide the analysis of Summer 2022 exam results:
A total of2,79,435 students appeared for the Summer 2022 examination. Out of these students a total of 1,04,421 students passed. A total of 37.37 % students passed the Summer 2022 exam.
  • 28,998 students passed with Distinction (27.77%).
  • 66,475 students passed with First Class (63.66%).
  • 8,794 students passed with Second Class (8.42%).
  • 154 students passed with Pass Class (0.15%).
The percentage of students who passed in Summer exam 2022 is same as that of Summer exam 2018 and 2019. OWhereas, in the summer examination 2022, the number of students passing in First Class and Distinction has increased as compared to the summer examination 2018 and 2019, it has been clarified in the circular issued by the MSBTE. MSBTE has informed all Institution Heads, students and their parents that,
There will be no change in the result of Summer 2022 Examination.
The board has announced the decision not to make any change in the result of summer examination 2022 and not to conduct re-examination of failed students because, an additional time of 15 minutes was given for every hour for the written examination of Summer 2022. A gap of at least two days was kept between the two papers of the written examination of each subject in the regular semester/year. The subject-wise question papers of the previous examinations conducted by the Board as well as the subject-wise sample question papers as Suggestive Question Bank were made available to the students for practice on the official website of the Board before the commencement of Summer 2022 Examination.
